Kirsten & Mike – Wedding at Sunnyside Pavilion

Kirsten & Mike – Wedding at Sunnyside Pavilion

I recently had the great fortune of being hired to photograph the wedding of professional model Kirsten Visima and her husband Mike.  We all had so much fun and I wish I could take all of the credit for these shots, but honestly Kirsten made my job so much easier with her years of experience in the modeling industry: A slightly different dress shot (thanks to Elaine for holding it out there for so long while we got it just right): A little love from the infrared camera: Here, I isolated the bride with a long lens and narrow depth of field while shooting on a busy street in front of the house: Walking down the aisle with Dad at Sunnyside Pavilion in Toronto: A few great moments during the ceremony: After the ceremony, we toured around the picturesque grounds at Sunnyside Pavilion for the formal portraits: We took a break in the evening during the reception to capture a few more romantic bride and groom sunset portraits: Even a power outage didn’t stop us from getting some more great shots later that night… …and the party continued, power outage or not! Thanks to you both for a wonderful day and for making my job so easy! Cheers,...

Priya & Anuj – Wedding at BAPS Mandir and Thompson Hotel

Priya & Anuj – Wedding at BAPS Mandir and Thompson Hotel

…And now for part 2 of Priya & Anuj’s wedding coverage… We started the day at the beautiful BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto on a gorgeous cool Saturday morning: A nice candid moment while waiting for the ceremony to begin.  The colours and detail of the attire were incredible! This part was so much fun to shoot as the groom’s family and musicians danced and celebrated as they made their way towards the Mandir: It was such a beautiful and intimate ceremony, rich with symbolism and cultural tradition: It was raining fairly heavily at this point but it didn’t deter us from getting some great family shots in the covered entryway: The traditional family send-off before we made our way to the reception: We then made our way to the ritzy Thompson Hotel in downtown Toronto for a wardrobe change and some more portraits: I love how the jewelry is so coordinated with the makeup and dress! I hope you both had a fantastic day!...

The traditional Hindu wedding celebration involves many days of ceremony and festivity and I was lucky enough to be to shoot one of the events before Priya & Anuj’s big wedding day. I love these moments between proud dad and daughter: Excited after receiving her henna application: I was mostly there to get candid shots of the party but we took some time for some formal family shots…gotta love all those colours! Mom and daughter on the dance floor: The girls put on a great Bollywood-inspired dance routine for the couple: Stay tuned for part 2 coming...

Nicole & Mark – Wedding

Nicole & Mark – Wedding

You’ve got to love an easy-going wedding full of fun, happy people;  and that’s just what we had at Nicole and Mark’s wedding in Oakville. Here are some GQ-esque shots of Mark as he was getting ready for the big day: A few quick shots of the bride and her girls before heading to the church: Had a nice view from the balcony so I stitched 3 wide-angle shots together to make this all-encompassing panorama of Holy Trinity Church: We then made our way to the picturesque Lakeside Park in Oakville for some photos of the bridal party: Nicole looking stunning in these shots taken with my infrared camera: I hope you both had a great day! Lia & Seirge – Wedding

Lia & Seirge – Wedding

Winter weddings can pose quite a challenge to a photographer where one must find a balance between the comfort of his subjects and the desire to produce beautiful photographs for his clients.  Luckily we had a great bunch of people to work with at Lia & Seirge’s wedding who were willing to tough it out on one of the coldest days of the year…and we got some great photos as a result! The little flower girl was so adorable! We had literally 5 minutes with Lia before we had to head to the church but we still managed to grab a few beautiful portraits in that time: The gorgeous St. Paul’s Basilica in Toronto: I liked this priest.  He was always smiling and looked like he truly enjoys what he does: It was about -20C with the wind chill but a combination of some quick shooting and jovial encouragement (and cuddling for warmth), we managed to get some great fun shots outside the church: We then made our way down to the Distillery District for the formal portraits: You wouldn’t know that they were freezing their butts off by looking at these warm intimate shots of the happy couple: Understandably, the family wasn’t as eager to have their photos done outside, so we set up shop in the Field House at “The Berkeley” for some fun family group shots: “The Church” room at The Berkeley made for a fantastic and unique venue for the reception: The bride and groom prepared an elegant dance routine for their guests to enjoy: The Field House also offered some very cool spaces for some of my favourite portraits of the evening: It was a real pleasure working with you both and thanks for being such troopers with the cold and late night portraits!  I hope you’re having an amazing time on your honeymoon! Cheers,...

Emily & Christopher – Wedding

Emily & Christopher – Wedding

It was a cold winter’s day in Peterborough but that didn’t stop us from capturing some hot portraits at Emily & Christopher’s wedding recently… I love making beautiful portraits with something simple like a solitary light bulb, a dark dingy basement and a gorgeous subject: Also, the unlikeliest of rooms can sometimes make for the best photo ops: Bloodline Parlour in downtown Peterborough offered some very cool locations and props for the photos in the morning: We made our way to St John’s Anglican Church to set up for the ceremony and found this cool staircase up to the bell tower: Emily had one of the most unique bouquets I’ve seen in quite a while! A funny moment during the ceremony preparation with the mother of the groom and the best man: We took a *quick* stroll downtown for some more pictures.  I didn’t need to pose them for this shot – they were just huddling for warmth. 😉 The lighting in this room at the newly renovated Market Hall in Peterborough made for some really cool graphic images: After the ceremony, the bride and groom were treated to a sparkler reception in front of the church: Trying something a little different for the speeches.  Here the bride and groom embrace while listening to some loving words from the father of the bride: One last special shot of the bride and groom before we called it a day: It was great getting to know you both during our little winter wedding adventure.  I hope you both had a fantastic day and wish you all the best in the future. Cheers,...
