Fritzie & Shawn Wedding – Taormina, Italy

Here’s part 2 of Fritzie & Shawn’s epic Italian wedding adventure!
The view from our balcony at Villa Carlotta on the morning of the wedding was breathtaking. If only every work day could start with a scene like this!:
Here’s Shawn rocking his awesome (appropriately Italian) Pal Zileri suit:
I love this candid shot of Franzel. I tried shooting some more like this but nothing came out as well as the first unposed capture:
The gardens had a magical dreamy quality to the light:
Here’s a little story of the “reveal” where the bride and groom see each other for the first time:
The view from the gardens was spectacular with the coastline, town of Taormina and Mt Etna in the distance:
There are no shortages of beautifully ornate churches in Italy, and this one was no exception:
They never let us throw rice in Canada…it makes for such an emotive post-ceremony image:
After the ceremony, we all went next door to a café for some champagne and a toast:
Here’s my first hand cameo:
A few more shots near the church before we made our way to the reception:
Villa Antonio is rated Taormina’s top-rated restaurant on Trip Adviser and for good reason…the food was amazing! And for a treat of another sort, the bride and groom put on a great show for their guests with an elegant waltz to start off the dancing…
…then broke out into a mini flash-mob with the entire bridal party! Those dance lessons sure paid off!
I think it’s safe to say that everyone had a fantastic trip and this will live long in our memories as one of the best weddings we’ve ever been a part of!
Cheers,
Michael
