Priya & Anuj – Wedding at BAPS Mandir and Thompson Hotel

…And now for part 2 of Priya & Anuj’s wedding coverage… We started the day at the beautiful BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto on a gorgeous cool Saturday morning: A nice candid moment while waiting for the ceremony to begin.  The colours and detail of the attire were incredible! This part was so much fun to shoot as the groom’s family and musicians danced and celebrated as they made their way towards the Mandir: It was such a beautiful and intimate ceremony, rich with symbolism and cultural tradition: It was raining fairly heavily at this point but it didn’t deter us from getting some great family shots in the covered entryway: The traditional family send-off before we made our way to the reception: We then made our way to the ritzy Thompson Hotel in downtown Toronto for a wardrobe change and some more portraits: I love how the jewelry is so coordinated with the makeup and dress! I hope you both had a fantastic day!...

Scotlynn Commodities – Commercial Shoot

I’d like to share some photos from a recent commercial shoot for Scotlynn Commodities (plus some family pics). A couple of shots of the CEO in his cool office: The sky rather blah on the day so I needed a lot of Photoshop magic to make it look interesting.  Here’s one of their specialized “Corn Pullers” in action (I couldn’t decide between the enhanced natural sky or the “mock sunrise” sky): The kids enjoying some raw corn, freshly plucked from the field: The kids were having fun with an early crop of pumpkins from a nearby patch: Then we made our way out to the watermelon field before the sun set: …then a few more family portraits in the evening light. Cheers,...

Priya & Anuj – Pre-Wedding Celebration

The traditional Hindu wedding celebration involves many days of ceremony and festivity and I was lucky enough to be to shoot one of the events before Priya & Anuj’s big wedding day. I love these moments between proud dad and daughter: Excited after receiving her henna application: I was mostly there to get candid shots of the party but we took some time for some formal family shots…gotta love all those colours! Mom and daughter on the dance floor: The girls put on a great Bollywood-inspired dance routine for the couple: Stay tuned for part 2 coming...

Priya & Anuj – Engagement

I’m happy to share a few images from Priya & Anuj’s stylish engagement session in downtown Toronto: Starting out at Osgoode Hall: …then a few shots at the famous Flatiron Building. Later we popped into a cool Russian-themed bar called Pravda to escape the heat, grab a drink and capture a few cool images in the process: Hope you guys had fun, despite the sweltering heat. Looking forward to the wedding next week!...

Nicole & Mark – Wedding

You’ve got to love an easy-going wedding full of fun, happy people;  and that’s just what we had at Nicole and Mark’s wedding in Oakville. Here are some GQ-esque shots of Mark as he was getting ready for the big day: A few quick shots of the bride and her girls before heading to the church: Had a nice view from the balcony so I stitched 3 wide-angle shots together to make this all-encompassing panorama of Holy Trinity Church: We then made our way to the picturesque Lakeside Park in Oakville for some photos of the bridal party: Nicole looking stunning in these shots taken with my infrared camera: I hope you both had a great day! Cheers,...

Lisa & Mike – Engagement

I’m excited to share our fun and romantic engagement shoot with Lisa and Mike taken at the fantastic Lakeside Park in Oakville: I always like to start out with some easy and fun shots to lighten things up and get the couple relaxed and it certainly worked in this case: Mike works in construction and it so happened that some work was being done on the pier so we thought these next couple of shots would be appropriate: I love using off-camera lighting to create drama like the above image, but sometimes the natural light (when posed for properly) can look amazing as well: It was great getting to know you both better and I’m really looking forward to the wedding in September! Cheers,...

New Inside Milton Cover and Article

I’d like to share some more of the recent work I’ve done for Inside Milton Magazine.  The big news is that they’ve asked to use one of my wedding photos for the cover of this month’s issue which you can see below: Another first for me is an article I wrote for the same issue which gives some pointers on how to choose a photographer for your wedding.  Click on the image below to see a readable PDF version of the article: I also did a Christmas portrait session a few months ago which landed me the cover of the December 2011 issue: Here are a few more images captured for ads and articles in recent issues of Inside Milton: For a story on a young boxer and his coach at Crossfit: Photo of a local chef cooking with his kids (originally intended for a cover, hence the extra head room at top): The ladies of Rapunzel Salon: The following three images are for a piece on local “couples in business”: The chef at Teatro Conference & Event Centre: One of the friendly folks at Daniela’s Hair Design: Owner of Flooring Works: The proud winners of Swiss Chalet’s restaurant of the year award: You can read all of the full issues of Inside Milton Magazine here: http://issuu.com/insidemiltonmagazine...

Lia & Seirge – Wedding

Winter weddings can pose quite a challenge to a photographer where one must find a balance between the comfort of his subjects and the desire to produce beautiful photographs for his clients.  Luckily we had a great bunch of people to work with at Lia & Seirge’s wedding who were willing to tough it out on one of the coldest days of the year…and we got some great photos as a result! The little flower girl was so adorable! We had literally 5 minutes with Lia before we had to head to the church but we still managed to grab a few beautiful portraits in that time: The gorgeous St. Paul’s Basilica in Toronto: I liked this priest.  He was always smiling and looked like he truly enjoys what he does: It was about -20C with the wind chill but a combination of some quick shooting and jovial encouragement (and cuddling for warmth), we managed to get some great fun shots outside the church: We then made our way down to the Distillery District for the formal portraits: You wouldn’t know that they were freezing their butts off by looking at these warm intimate shots of the happy couple: Understandably, the family wasn’t as eager to have their photos done outside, so we set up shop in the Field House at “The Berkeley” for some fun family group shots: “The Church” room at The Berkeley made for a fantastic and unique venue for the reception: The bride and groom prepared an elegant dance routine for their guests to enjoy: The Field House also offered some very cool spaces for some of my favourite portraits of the evening: It was a real pleasure working with you both and thanks for being such troopers with the cold and late night portraits!  I hope you’re having an amazing time on your honeymoon! Cheers,...
