Sherri & Lee Wedding

Last month I had the honour of shooting the wedding of my friends Lee and Sherri. I've known Lee since high school and it was great to share their special day with them in a way that only a wedding photographer can. Not many guests get to hang out with the bride and groom non-stop from the time the bride gets dressed until after dinner.

Here are some of my favourites from the day:

I love this moment as Sherri sees herself in her wedding gown for the first time on her wedding day:

I think having the bride and groom meet early in the day helps to make the ceremony a little less stressful, but it's obvious these two didn't need to worry about that part:

Lee lookin' pretty darn suave: ;)

We got rained out the whole day, which was a bummer 'cause I know they both really wanted to be outside, but we made do with what we had in the hotel lobby and the restaurant:

Life imitates art:

Sorry to the guests we had to kick off the couch, but I think the results were worth it:

Gotta love those funny speeches!:

There's always such a great range of expressions during the first dances and this was no exception:

And finally, here's me with "my three brides". I photographed Judy's wedding in 2004, Becky's in 2005 and now Sherri. I love referrals! :)

To Sherri & Lee: I'm so glad that the bad weather didn't dampen your spirits on your wedding day. You're truly great people and Iveta and I are honoured to be considered your friends. Hope you had an amazing time in Hawaii!

Sarah & Iain Engagement

Well, the weather wasn't too hot (in more ways than one), but I think it made for some pretty romantic images.

We started out at Eaton Hall in King City which made for some beautiful backdrops:

This was a really cool moment. They were standing in the exact spot where Iain proposed when out of nowhere a gaggle of Canada Geese did a flyby!

The heavily overcast sky made for some beautiful natural lighting:

We were lucky enough to still find some nice fall foliage and Sarah & Iain were real troopers for hanging out in the cold, damp, rainy weather for so long!

After we had enough of the crappy weather, we went back to their place to warm up and grab a few more relaxed portraits:

Good weather, bad weather...it doesn't really matter. When you're into each other as much as these two, we can get great shots no matter what.

Stephanie & Chris Wedding

Despite the crazy Canadian weather (sun, cloud, rain, sun, hail, sun....) and the snowdrifts that forced a reception location change, I think we all had a great time at Stephanie & Chris's wedding. It took place at Rocky Crest Resort on beautiful Lake Joseph in the Muskokas. What a gorgeous spot for a wedding in the fall!

You'd almost think this shot was set up! Thanks to the bridal party for being so welcoming and helpful - I even remember all of your names - Heather, Stephanie and Jamie (well, Heather said I had to...or else) ;)

What a cool little church which overlooked the lake from the top of a cliff!

Instead of the typical stretched limo, they hired this cool old Chrysler Windsor Deluxe (1953??). Here's Chris and the guys hanging out behind the limo:

Many thanks to Ray for taking over for my assistant and helping me out with the lighting in some of the next few shots:

Something a little different - I like the motion captured in this one:

This room had incredible light for the Bride & Groom portraits (with a little help from my video light for some):

I just love it when I have time to play around with some cool lighting:

It was a pleasure working with both of you and meeting your warm and welcoming families.
